Brief Bio

Yijun Lu received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in August 2007. He completed his dissertation "Improving Data Consistency Management and Overlay Multicast in Internet-scale Distributed Systems" under supervision of Prof. Hong Jiang and Prof. Ying Lu.

His research interests are broadly in networks and distributed systems with a focus on data consistency management in large-scale distributed systems, overlay multicast, and cluster/grid computing. He is a member of the ACM, the IEEE, and the IEEE computer society.

He is currently working at Amazon.com in Seattle as a team member in Amazon's Global Financial Systems group. That team is charged to upgrade Amazon's aging financial transaction processing infrastructure. Prior to that, he has worked at Asankya, Inc, an Atlanta-based start-up that specializes in data transport optimization for Cloud Computing services.
